What was your first CrossFit WOD? Fight Gone Bad - 1 minute of Wall Balls, 1 minute of Sumo Deadlift high pulls, 1 minute of Box Jumps, 1 minute of Push Press, 1 minute of Rowing, 1 minute of rest for 3 rounds.

What background do you come from? Sporting, fitness? As a kid I played all kinds of sports, Rugby League, Touch Football, Soccer and Karate mainly. After I left school I was in the Australian Army (Royal Australian Regiment, Infantry) for 8 years. After a few years and a few different jobs I became a Personal Trainer in 2004.

What led you to CrossFit? I had heard about CrossFit from other trainers and had a look at it to see what it was and if it would be beneficial to my clients. I started doing some of the main site WODs by myself until I did my CF-L1 in 2009 and then started Coaching at CrossFit Wollongong.

What do you love about coaching? I love helping others. I love seeing people do things that they couldn’t do 3 months ago. I love watching the ‘a-ha’ moments, when a member ‘gets’ the movement. Deep down inside I love that minute or so after the class has finished a WOD, and the only sound is heavy breathing. That’s when you know that the WOD is good.

What goals do you have? Personally - To maintain the highest level of fitness I can. To set an example for my children and my members. Professionally - To always be learning how to be a better Coach. To create and encourage a fitness community. To leave a legacy.
